The Toyota Fortuner 2019 is the newest edition of what Toyota calls its SW4 line. Depending on the country where it’s sold, the Fortuner is also sold under the SW4 or SW4 Helix moniker. But the vehicles are the same, regardless of the name. The Toyota has long been known for its popular line of mid-sized SUVs that straddle a fine line between solid performance and a reasonable price point.
The Fortuner line is sold in about 40 countries across the globe, but it is most popular in Asia. In 2018, the Fortuner was one of Toyota’s biggest-selling vehicles in China, South Korea, the Philippines, thanks to an award-winning television ad campaign that featured popular local singers.
The vehicle underwent a large update for the 2018 model year, so the changes in the Toyota Fortuner 2019 are more modest and along the lines of tweaking rather than an overhaul.
Toyota Fortuner 2019 – Exterior and Interior Changes
Following 2018’s extensive makeover, the exterior of the Toyota Fortuner 2019 is going to undergo only modest updates. The front end will be tweaked a bit to improve the placement of the headlights. But it includes a beefed-up key-less security system. The new model year will also include an upgrade to premium leather seats in the basic package. Other additions to the base package also include side passenger airbags, upgraded interior materials and a split-seat option for the back seat row.
